Childs Door Plaque

Here is another gift I made for my cousin Arisena's baby shower. I am so happy with the end result of this project, I think it is just too stinkin' cute! I love the safari silhouette. You guessed it, she is going for the jungle theme!

I can't wait till little Jeovanny is born, comes home from the hospital and before entering his room, this door plaque that was made with lots of love by his Tia Kathy is the first thing he'll see. Well, I guess he won't really be paying much attention to his door for a while. I am sure he'll be sleeping, eating, pooping and going back to sleep. Oh and of course most important, enjoying the love of his parents!

For this project I used an unfinished wood plaque from Michael's, blue crafts paint and two different types of ribbon. The light green ribbon for around the edge of the plaque and the blue ribbon to hang the plaque. I sanded and smoothed my piece of wood. Applied 3 coats of the blue paint. Added my vinyl, light layer of matte Mod Podge, hot glued the light green ribbon around the plaque and stapled the blue ribbon to the back.

As for the cut files. The clouds I found off of someone's blog, can't remember...sorry! The font is Ravie and the safari silhouette can be found here. I absolutely love this file, thanks to brandonw from the craftedge.com forum for sharing this beautiful file. When I first found it I couldn't wait to use it for Mr. Jeovany Joel Hernandez :)

I love how his name pops out!!

I think Jeovany's mom and dad will love this one too!

The plaque is just beautiful. I looked through your blog and have to tell you that you do some amazing work. I just love all your ideas and can't wait to see more.
